Directions to the Chalgrove Midsummer Ball from the direction of Reading
Leave Reading heading north via Caversham Bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn left onto Church Road (A4074), and follow this road up St. Peter's Hill. This road becomes Woodcote Road. Follow the A4074 out of Reading, and stay on this road for approx 10 miles. Eventually you will come to a roundabout; turn right here towards Crowmarsh and Wallingford. At the next roundabout, go straight over, staying on the A4074.
Follow the road for another mile or so, and you will see a right turn into Benson; there is an area to turn right marked on the road. Turn right into Church Road, and at the end of Church Road, turn right and then immediately left onto the B4009 (Caution - the road is quite narrow here). Follow the B4009 past the traffic calming and out of Benson. Go past the first two turns for Berrick and Roke, and take the third left turn, signposted for Chalgrove. (Caution - this road is narrow in places) At the end of this road, turn right at the T-Junction.
Take the first left turn into Mill Lane, and follow this road until you reach Chalgrove village. Cross the narrow bridge, and go past the front entrance to The Manor. There will be a large black converted barn on your left, and the entrance to the car park is on your left immediately after this barn; this will be signposted as the Midsummer Ball Car park. Turn right here, and follow the lane behind the old Tudor Manor House. Our venue is the marquee at the rear of the Manor House. If you reach The Lamb pub, you have gone too far.
