The Manor, Chalgrove

The Manor in Chalgrove is the second oldest building in Chalgrove after St. Mary's Church. It stands partly on the site of the de Plessis manor / court house. The building itself is late 14th / early 15th Century and was restored during the 1980's.

The Manor is of exceptionally high quality and it is possible that the carpentry is the same as the Royal Palace in Ewelme. The architecture shows fine examples from the 13th through to the 17th Centuries. The house is open to the public on occasional open days and also by written appointment.

The Chalgrove Midsummer Ball is very grateful that the current owners have given their kind permission for the Ball to be held at this prestigious venue.
